Office 365: Using Microsoft IIS for SSL Certificate Installation Microsoft Office 365 doesn’t include a GUI for installing a SSL Certificate. Because Office 365 is designed to run on Microsoft IIS, you can use IIS to install your certificate. If you have not yet created a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and ordered your certificate, see. Next, in the Friendly name box, enter a friendly name for the certificate. The friendly name is not part of the certificate; instead, it is used to identify the certificate. We recommend that you add DigiCert and the expiration date to the end of your friendly name, for example: yoursite-DigiCert-expirationDate. This information helps identify the issuer and expiration date for each certificate. It also helps distinguish multiple certificates with the same domain name.
Next, in the Select a certificate store for the new certificate drop-down list, select Personal. To install the SSL Certificate to the server, click OK. Once you have successfully installed the SSL Certificate to the server, you still need use IIS to assign or bind that certificate to the default website (HTTPS port 443). Using IIS 8/8.5 to Assign the Certificate to the Default Website. In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, under Connections, expand your server’s name, expand Sites, and then select the Default Web Site site.
In the Actions menu, under Edit Site, click Bindings. In the Site Binding window, click Add. In the Add Site Bindings window, enter the following information and then, click OK: Type: In the drop-down list, select https.
IP address: In the drop-down list, select All unassigned. If your server has multiple IP addresses, select the one that applies. Port: Enter 443, unless you are using a non-standard port for SSL traffic. SSL certificate: In the drop-down list, select the friendly name of the certificate that you just installed. Your SSL certificate is now installed, and the website configured to accept secure connections. Test your Installation To verify that the installation is correct, use our and enter the DNS name of the site (i.e. Www.yourdomain.com, or mail.yourdomain.com) that you are securing to test your SSL Certificate.

Solution: If this is the server where you generated the CSR, in most cases, the certificate is actually installed. Simply close Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and reopen it to refresh the list of server certificates.
The new certificate should now be in the list, and you can continue with the next step. If the new certificate is not in the list, you need to one of the following things:. Reissue your certificate. To access your Office 365 email on your Blackberry, please follow the instructions below. These have been tested on a Blackberry Curve 9360 running version 7.1 of the operating system. From the Blackberry email application select Options then Email Account Options. Select to Add annother email address. Choose the Other option.
Add your CIS email address and password then Continue. Select OK when prompted and scroll down the screen until you see I will provide the settings - select this option. Choose POP/IMAP (Most common) as the email type. Add m.outlook.com as the email server. Add your [email protected] as the User name then Continue. From Systems Settings select Acounts: Set up email, contacts, calendar. Select Add Account then Email, Calendar and Contacts.
Add your Durham email address then select Next. Add your password then select Next. The configuration will fail, click the Advanced button at the bottom of the screen. Select the Exchange ActiveSync option. Add a description for your account e.g. Office 365.
Change the username to the following format [email protected]. Add m.outlook.com as the Server Address. Leave all the other settings as they are by default and click Next. Choose the required ActiveSync option and click Done.

From Outlook go to Outlook Preferences Accounts and if you have accounts already configured, click the + symbol in the bottom left of the Accounts window. Other options are available for getting emails on your device however CIS will not be offering support or help with those.

Check your details are correct and then add your password. If Sync is enabled, select Yes or Allow to give permission to sync with your Outlook. Windows devices already have the client (app) built into the phone. To set it up:. In the App list, select Settings and then Email + accounts. If you have a Windows phone 7 or 7.5, select Add an account and then Outlook.
If you have a Windows phone 8, 8.1 or 10 select Add an account and then Exchange. Enter your and password. Select Sign in. The phone should find your settings, your email, calendar and sync them to your device.

Click Install and once it has completed, click Open, it will look like this: Click on the Settings cog: Under Accounts, select Add Account: Select Add an email account: You will need to login: enter your details and then continue: Then you need to sign in: make sure your use your (not your email address) and your password: You should now see your account: Whilst the account is displayed, select it and if Sync Contacts is enabled then select Sync: You will then see the following - select Enable. Not doing so would present a privacy risk to the end user. The secure URL also allows you to navigate away from and return to OWA without re-authenticating.
If the amended link was not added, when you clicked the unsecured link, your web browser would send the original URL as part of the HTTP referrer header. The referrer header would contain your username and the subject of the message that you where viewing at the time. By adding a secure URL, no confidential data is passed in the referrer request.
The above behaviour is by design and it is not possible to turn it off for privacy and security reasons, both for the individual and the University. You may also see text which states that MailScanner has detected a potential fraud attempt. This message is displayed because MailScanner interprets the secure URL added by Exchange as a redirected webpage and as a result raises the potential fraud risk to the user. Again, the MailScanner behaviour is by design and has been implemented to reduce the possibility of the recipient of the email being a victim of fraud.
